  • Advance 4 Training offers this qualification for those Electricians who wish to carry out the Inspection, Testing and Commissioning of Electrical Installations and wish to acquire new knowledge and skills.  This Award gives the learner an understanding of the theory and practice of the initial verification and commissioning of both single and three phase electrical installations. The qualification follows BS 7671 and the industry recognised IET Guidance Note 3, as well as the Electrical Safely Council.

    How is this Qualification Delivered?

    The qualification can be delivered completely at the Centre, with a mix of workshop and theory sessions. 

    How is this Qualification Assessed?

    The assessment involves one on-screen open book exam (IET GN3) and practical assessments covering initial inspection, earth fault loop impedance testing, insulation resistance testing, and commissioning of a three phase rig.

  • This qualification, along with the Level 3 QCF Award in the Period Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations Qualification is equivalent to the previous City & Guild 2391 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations Qualification

    Modules covered in this course:

    • Initial Inspection
    • Earth Fault Loop Impedance Testing
    • Insulation Resistance Testing
    • Commissioning of Three Phase Systems (Candidates will need to have a copy and should study this before attending the course)
    • BS7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations - IEE Wiring Regulations 2018+A2:2022
    • IEE On-Site Guide; BS7671: 2018+A2:2022
    • Guidance Note 3: Inspection & Testing (Electrical Regulations)

     

  • Prerequisite
  • There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification although learners have the potential to achieve the qualification.
     

  • Achievement Upon Completion
  • Upon successful completion of the Assessment, the candidate will receive a Certificate of Competence from EAL or City & Guild.
